Jean Colleaux

Obituary of Jean Annetta Colleaux

Jean Annetta Colleaux of Calgary slipped peacefully into God’s arms on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Jean trained as a nurse in Prince Albert, SK, and volunteered extensively in health-related activities while raising her family and in the years since, but her greatest pleasure in recent times was being “Gammer” to Katrina and Travis. She loved her summers at the family cottage at Lake Windermere, enjoyed her crafts and sewing, and in spite of “those darn four-card suits” continued to play bridge with her friends until Alzheimer’s made that no longer possible. Jean is survived by her daughter Joanne (Denis Harvey) of Armstrong, BC; her son Steve and grandchildren Katrina and Travis of Calgary; her sister Agnes; sisters-in-law Anna and Lorette; as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her husband Ron in 1985, and her brother Jack in October, 2007. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle, N.W.) on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
