Obituary of Michael Metz

Michael (Mike) Richard Metz, beloved son of Linda and Nick Metz of Elkford, B.C, passed away in Calgary AB, on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the age of 26 years. Mike was born June 6, 1981, in Sparwood, B.C., and was raised in Elkford, B.C. He graduated from Elkford Secondary School in 1999 and pursued a career in welding and worked with his father at Trans West Mining Systems. Mike was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed many outdoor activities with all his special friends. Mike never took anything for granted and lived life to the fullest. Besides his loving parents, Linda and Nick Metz, Mike is also survived by his sister Miranda Metz (Coby James) of Elkford, B.C. He is also survived by his Grandparents, Irene and Greg Freeman of Vernon, B.C., Grandmother Edna Metz, of Calgary, Great-Grandmother, Helen (Baba) Zawislak of Winnipeg, as well as many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Mike is also survived by his special friend Brittney Hood, as well as his close friends, Brett, Brad, Travis, Scott, Kenny, Adam, and many other friends and co-workers. Mike was predeceased by his Uncle Curtis, and by his Grandfathers, Herbert Schneider and Mike Metz. Funeral Services will be held at the Elkford Secondary School Gymnasium, in Elkford, B.C. on Saturday November 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
