Obituary of Mary Justina Marik

Mary Justina Marik of Calgary passed away on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the age of 89 years. Mary spent many of her younger years in Acme, where she met and married Joe. His career with the CPR saw them move often and make many new friends. Mary devoted her life to being a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend. In later years she enjoyed a career at the Rosary Florist in Medicine Hat. Though small in stature, and quiet in person, mom was the very centre of our family and her love carried us all. Mary will be missed and lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law Robert and Lana Marik of Edmonton; her daughters and sons-in-law Marilyn and Frank Kynoch of Drayton Valley, Jeanette and David Rae of Okotoks and Penny and Jeff Lennard of Calgary. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her two brothers and sister-in-law Jack Goodrich of Calgary and George and Vivian Goodrich of Diamond City; also, Ruth and Baltser Schmaltz of Airdrie; Alma Jean Dirk of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Kaja and Frank Westgarth of Medicine Hat. Mary was predeceased by the love of her life, Joseph Marik, in 2001. They enjoyed sixty-four wonderful years together, sharing in all that they did. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 1:00p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Medicine Hat Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
