Obituary of Turning Robe

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother Hazel Marie Turning Robe, on Tuesday October 23rd, 2007 at the age of 63 years. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Edward Thomas Gallegos. She was a mother of six children, Cheri, Jason (Marina), Karen, Andrea, Jon, Leslee; Grandmother to 22 grandchildren, Stacy, Shain, Sean, Stephanie, Krista, Stevie, Stephanie, Sophia, Ryan, A.J., Brian, Joel, Mark, Daniel, Jenna, Edward, Zachary, Jacob, Tyler, Eden, Emily, Evan; Great- Grandmother to 2 great-grandsons, Sean and Alejandro. Hazel will be cherished for the laughs and love she shared with her family and friends. Hazel was a loving sister to George (Marcella), Rena (John), Wayne (Trina), Jackie, Reggie, and Candi. She was a relative to families of the Cat Face, Turning Robe, Water Chief, One Gun, McMaster, Axe, Rabbit Carrier, Scout, Yellow Old Woman, Black Rider, Medicine Shield, Jacobs, Doore, Strangling Wolf, Eagle Bear, and many others. We sincerely apologize to anyone or any family we may have missed. Hazel was an Aunt, Sister, adopted mother and grandmother and best friend to many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she treasured and loved and to whom her door was always open. Wake services will be held at Hazel’s residence at Siksika Nation, AB on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (Siksika Nation, AB) on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Services to follow at Little Chicago Cemetery.
