Obituary of Monica Isabella Honeychurch
Monica Honeychurch of Calgary passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the age of 77 years.
Monica was born in Red Deer, AB, the youngest of seven children. She attended Saint Mary’s Girls High School in Calgary and worked as a bank teller over a number of years. In 1953, at the age of 23, she married Raymond Honeychurch. Monica was a fun-loving, vivacious dinner party hostess, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, sister, sister-in-law, and loyal friend. She loved going for nature walks, to laugh and visit with friends and family, reading historical novels, and planting and nurturing her lush flower garden. She had an appreciation for beauty (especially Victorian style), and a kind, friendly personality.
She will be dearly missed by her three daughters, Kathleen Honeychurch (Michael Dunda), Eileen (Barry) Bryant, Nancy (Clayton) Phair; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Brent) Chmilar, Jacqueline Marques, Heather Phair, Evan Phair, Simone Phair, Kurt Phair, Gabrielle Phair, and Ellen Honeychurch-Dunda; and her brother Joseph Ashmore. Others missing her now include her friends from the Sewing Club, bridge buddies, school chums, in-laws, nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends, residents, and caregivers at Eau Claire Retirement Residence. Monica was predeceased by her son Thomas Raymond in 1981 and her loving husband Raymond, in 2005. Thank you to the caring team at the Rockyview General Hospital, Unit 74. Your tender care for Monica and her family was remarkable.
