Dieter Moll

Obituary of Dieter Paul Moll

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Dieter Moll of Calgary on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the age of 72 years. Dieter was born 1935 in Berlin, Germany and came with Helga to Calgary in 1955. In 1972 he established Moll Masonry LTD., which allowed his innate sense of design and craftsmanship to become works of labour and love. Working with artists and architects, Dieter’s creative legacy will forever live on in public places and in many people’s homes. His wonderful determination, humour and caring for others provided meaningful moments throughout his life. Whether it was his numerous family trips to Europe or attending Calgary Stampeders football games with his son, Dieter enjoyed first and foremost time with his family. Dieter also found sanctuary in his greenhouse, bird watching and roaming around in the Foothills. He also found great pleasure in amusing family and friends with his great sense of humour. Dieter celebrated simplicity of life! Besides his loving wife of fifty-one years, Helga, Dieter is remembered by his son David and his sister Lisa (Lutz) Hoefer. He was predeceased by his father and mother Paul and Erna Moll; and his brother Joachim Moll. A Tribute to Dieter’s Life will be held at the Southern Alberta Pioneer Memorial Building (3625 – 4 Street S.W.) on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. We would like to thank Dr. Peter Neweduk, Dr. Oliver Bathe, support staff as well as the visiting nurses from the Regional Health Care District. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N2 Telephone: (403) 521-3433, or just brighten someone’s day with a smile or a kind word.
