Obituary of Robert Austin Brownie

Robert Austin Brownie of Calgary passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the age of 68 years. Robert was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Austin and Jean Brownie. He was a senior petroleum and mechanical draftsman with both Petrofina and Petro Canada in Calgary before his retirement in 1997. He was an avid hobbyist and traveler who enjoyed visiting each of Canada’s three oceans in addition to journeying to Central America, Europe and Africa. Robert volunteered for numerous organizations throughout his later life, including Meals on Wheels, the Volksmarch Club of Calgary, M.A.D.D., and the literacy program of the Calgary Public Library. Robert was a proud and loving father of his three children Rob (Annabel), Kerri-Lea (Derek) and Christopher and his grandson Kieran. He is also survived by his younger brother Don (Wendy) and his nephews and nieces. Robert was predeceased by his former wife Marilyn. Funeral Services were held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.)
