Obituary of Margaret Nicoud

An angel among us, Margaret Nicoud was called to her final resting place on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Margaret was born August 21, 1922 in South Uist, Scotland and immigrated to Canada two years later with her parents Allan and Rachel MacLellan and her siblings. She was raised on a farm in the Evergreen area, south of Eckville, AB before moving to Calgary where she met her husband to be, Cyril Nicoud. They were married at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Calgary on November 6, 1946 and spent the next sixty years raising their family in the Renfrew area of Calgary. She was a devoted wife and mother and an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, the Catholic Women’s League and Ladies of Knights of Columbus St. Alphonsus Council Local 4965 for many years. Margaret will be sadly missed by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Giles Lansfield and Linda and John Cole; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick, Dan and Roberta, and Tim. She was treasured and will be fondly remembered by her six grandchildren, Alex, Jessica, Johnny, Megan, Michael and Simon. Margaret is also survived by two loving sisters, Kae Hockley of Stauffer, AB and Marion (Tom) Jackson of Innisfail, AB. She will be missed dearly by the rest of her extended family and friends who will remember her as a kind gentle soul. Margaret was predeceased by Cyril, her loving husband of fifty-five years; her sister Catherine Monaghan and two brothers, Angus and Roderick Campbell.
