Obituary of Florence Welsh
With sadness we announce that Florence Welsh of Calgary passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2007, at the age of 89 years.
Florence was born in Abernethy, SK, on October 24, 1917. Florence and her husband Eric farmed in the Lorlie area where they raised their three daughters and took part in many community activities. They retired to Fort Qu’Appelle in 1978. She moved to Red Deer in 1995 to be closer to her family and then to Calgary in 2001. Florence was a devoted wife and mother who especially enjoyed babies, cooking, baking, and handicrafts.
Florence is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in law Judy and Jerry Johnstone, Elaine and Harold Lemieux, and Pat Ottenbreit; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Edwards, Janette (Rick) Pandachuck, Scott & Michelle Lemieux, Nicki Ottenbreit, Kelly (Jamie) Newman, and Chad Ottenbreit; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Shelby, Cole, Bobbi, Jamie, Ava; sisters Evelyn Welsh and Grace (Harold) Fitch; brother Gordon Behrns; and sister-in-law Lorraine Behrns, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eric, her mother and father, William and Sarah, and five sisters and brothers.
Funeral Services will be held in Abernethy, SK at a later date.
