Obituary of Marilyn Ruth Young

Marilyn Ruth Young, beloved wife of Harold Young of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the age of 68 years. Marilyn was born on September 1, 1939 in Lion’s Head, ON, the eldest of five children of Rev. Percy Barley and his wife Grace. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto in 1960 and taught High School English in schools in Ontario and Calgary. She later taught in several private Christian schools in Calgary and in 1997 earned the Master of Arts in Religion degree from Canadian Theological Seminary. Marilyn is survived by her husband Harold; four children and their spouses, Wade and Sandra Perry of Calgary, Melanie and Kevin Fawcett of Caronport, SK, Vaughan and Katerine Perry of Quebec City, QC, and Narda Perry of Calgary; her stepson Daron and Janice Young of Calgary; and ten grandchildren. She was predeceased by her stepson Jeff in 2002. Marilyn is also survived by her three sisters and their spouses, Marg and Mel Dick of Coleman, AB, Pauli and Klass Vandebelt of Flesherton, ON, Joy and Doug Clark of Grafton, ON; and her brother David and his wife Doline Barley of St. Cloud, FL.
