Obituary of James Jack

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Jack on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Intercare Chinook Care Centre at the age of 86 years. Jimmy was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1920 and was stationed in Calgary during his service with the RAF during World War II. He loved his time in Calgary and decided to immigrate to Canada with his wife Mary in 1955. Jimmy began working for Mobil Oil shortly after moving to Calgary and was employed by Mobil in Calgary, New York and Halifax until his retirement. His passion in life was soccer, both as a supporter of his hometown team the “Glasgow Celtic” and as a long term coach in both the Calgary minor and senior soccer leagues. Jimmy and Mary moved to Trinity Lodge in July 2004 and truly enjoyed their life there. Jimmy continued to live at Trinity after Mary’s death and was renowned for his singing prowess. Jimmy will be lovingly remembered by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Lynn and Alan and Shaunna and by Jimmy’s five grandchildren, Ally, Darby, Alana, Kathleen and Davis. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary in 2004. A Celebration of Jimmy’s Life will be held at Trinity Lodge(1111 Glenmore Trail S.W.) on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
