Obituary of Ronald Stephen Potyok
Ronald Stephen Potyok of Calgary passed away at the Agape Hospice on Friday, October 4, 2007 at the age of 69 years after a valiant battle with cancer.
Ron leaves to mourn his loving family, his wife of forty-eight years, Barbara (nee Walters); his children, Chris and his wife Star, their children Carly, Kim, Lynnell and Luke, all of Yellowknife, NT, Greg and his wife Bobbi, their children James (Chantal), Carolyn and Steven, all of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Victoria and her husband Scott Ferguson and their children, Lauren and Shaelee all of Calgary. He will also be sadly missed by his sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Ray Bliss, of Fort Erie, ON; his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sharon Potyok, of Edmonton, AB, his brother Dennis Potyok, of Fort Erie, and his in-laws Peter Walters (Rena), of Victoria, BC, and Kathy Lococo of North Bay, ON. Ron will also be remembered by the many First Nations People that he worked with throughout his thirty-year career as an administrator, negotiator, developer and friend, starting at Redwood Meadows, AB in 1977 and ending at Tulita, NT in 2007, with many communities and settlements in between. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Steve in 1983 and Sophie in 1997.
