Obituary of Robert Hamilton

Robert (Bert) Hamilton a long time resident of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the age of 71 years, after battling cancer. Bert was born on September 29, 1936 in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, and moved to Calgary with his wife Sylvia in 1961. He was a retired geologist with Chevron Standard Oil Company to which he devoted thirty-one years. In earlier years he helped with his children’s activities, especially with their involvement in competitive swimming. He spent his life enjoying his family and friends. Bert will be remembered by his son Michael Hamilton of Edmonton, AB; a daughter and son-in-law Karen and John Rhodin of Asheville, NC; his grandchildren, Kristen and Jason Rhodin; his brother and sister-in-law, Ian and Morny Hamilton of Stranraer, Scotland; his sister Margaret Hamilton of Belfast, Northern Ireland; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ethel and Jimmy Crawford of Portglenon, Northern Ireland. Bert was predeceased by his wife Sylvia Hamilton.
