Obituary of Frederick Albert Green

Frederick (Fred) Green of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Fred was born on December 12, 1919 in Calgary, AB. From 1941 until 1945 he served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy. His tours of duty were with the HMCS St. Clair and HMCS Snowberry, on the Bay of Biscay and the North Atlantic Ocean. In 1949, he married his wife Frances. Fred was a member of the Native Calgarian Society and the Banff Trailers Square Dance Club. His hobbies included carpentry, gardening and working with stained glass. He also enjoyed the outdoors and led an active social life. Fred is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Marilyn and Brian Deobald; his two sons and daughters-in-law Dave and Lisa Green, Fred E. Green and Carol Morrison; as well as his dear grandchildren, Shannon Deobald, Rebecca Deobald, Kyle Green and Zachary Green. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Joan and Len Armstrong; and his brother-in-law Alvin Berger. Fred was predeceased by his wife Frances in 2003; his parents Frederick and Rose; and his sisters Jessie, Dorothy, Margaret and Ida.
