Obituary of Don Kramer
Donald “Don” Albert Kramer, beloved husband of Jean Kramer of Calgary, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 65 years.
Don was born on March 7, 1942 in Carmengay, AB. Don graduated from St. Mary’s High School and from SAIT in the 1960’s. On May 23, 1970 he married the love of his life, Jean Smith. Don worked in the HVAC industry for over forty years. In February of 1988, Don established Horizon Heating Ltd. where through the hard work of all involved he achieved great success. His dedication and honesty were an example to all. Don’s family was of utmost importance to him, always making certain of their care before his own. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather and faithful member of both St. John’s and St. Joseph’s Catholic Churches.
Besides his wife, Jean, Don is also survived by his mother Otillie Kramer; son Matthew (Chasidy), son Keith (Sarah); daughter Chelsea (John) Salvatore; his five grandchildren Chiara, Evan, Samuel, Jonah and Jerome. He is also survived by his twin sister Dorothy (Lyle) Webb; sister Jean; brother John (Amy) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was predeceased by his father Frank Kramer in March 2007.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. A private family graveside will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Unit 57 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their compassionate care of Donald and support to his family.
