Obituary of James Onofriechuk

Jim Onofriechuk, loving husband of Beryl Onofriechuk (nee Swan), passed away suddenly on Monday, September 24, 2007 in Calgary at the age of 75 years. Jim was born in McNutt, SK and at an early age he moved to Flin Flon, MB where he worked twenty-four years for Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting. He met Beryl in Flin Flon and they raised their four children there until 1973 when he moved his family to Calgary. In Calgary, he worked for Nova Corporation until his retirement in February 1995. After retirement, his love for his family and his passion for carpentry kept him active. He was a loving and compassionate husband, Dad and Papa. He will be sadly missed by Beryl, his wife of fifty-one years; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Dave Rae, Glenda and Russ Girling, Gaylene and Rob Bentley; son and daughter-in-law Kelvin and Sharon Onofriechuk; and his seven grandchildren, Bria, Tyler, Nicholas, Jessica, Brittany, Daniel, and Christopher. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
