Obituary of Leon Daniel Joseph Dumaine
Leon Daniel Joseph Dumaine beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, of Calgary, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at the age of 81 years.
Leon was born on August 6, 1926 in Edmonton, AB and raised in Legal, AB. He graduated from Legal High School and continued his education receiving a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, studied medicine at the University of Paris, and received his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Geneva. Leon was a Physician and General Surgeon and practiced for many years in Westlock and Legal, AB. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, former member of the Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, and Royal Canadian Legion. Leon enjoyed sports of all kinds including hockey, golf, fishing, baseball and skiing. He had a great sense of humour and a bright smile. He will be missed by his loving family. “Au revoir Leon”
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (4718 Worcester Drive S.W.) on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. He is survived by his wife Mary Dumaine, one daughter and son-in-law Suzanne and Emery Varga, and three sons and two daughters-in-law Daniel Dumaine, Robert Dumaine and Melissa Dingey, and Leo and Gisele Dumaine, all of Calgary; six grandchildren, Vincent, Joseph, Emily, Isaac, Mark and Kate. He is also survived by his sister Marie Blain, of Prince Albert, SK and his brother Louis Dumaine, of Edmonton, AB.
