Obituary of Harry Ashton

Harry Ashton passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, from complications following cancer surgery on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the age of eighty-two years. Harry maintained his sense of humour and graced us with his bright smile whenever he could. He was born in England and immigrated to Canada in 1949, where he came to reside in Calgary and embark on a life long career with Calgary Transit until his retirement in 1990. Harry was a kind and gentle man, gardener, handyman, sports fan and a wonderful husband and father. Harry is survived by his wife Edith of forty-eight years, daughter and son in law Stacey and Jeff, grandchildren Madelaine and Liam who were the light of his life, as well as his sister Betty in BC. Harry will be dearly missed by all who know him. We invite you to celebrate his life with us at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
