Obituary of Glen Whitfield Servis

Glen passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the age of 69 years with his wife Shirley at his side after a courageous one year battle with cancer. Glen was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan. At the age of 8 following his father’s passing the family moved to Renown, Saskatchewan where he grew up and attended school. Following high school, Glen entered the work force in the area of Credit and Collections. He worked with a number of different companies over the years, and in 2001 Glen retired. He enjoyed long walks, the occasional game of golf and spending time with his good friends. In retirement he was passionate about volunteering at the Calgary Zoo where he had a special love for the elephants. Glen loved to travel and lived to enjoy the next trip to some place new and exciting. Traveling around the world with his good friends was a highlight of his life. He had a special love of Africa where he could enjoy viewing animals in the wild. Glen is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Shirley, his sister and brother-in-law Lolamae and Daryl, and by his brother and sister-in-law Bert and Terry. He was predeceased by his mother Euphemia, his father Roy, brother Milton and by his niece McKenzie. Above all Glen will always be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving bother and brother-in-law, a special uncle and a wonderful friend. A Celebration of Glen’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
