Obituary of Mary Magdelene Vervalcke
Mary Vervalcke, beloved wife of the late Germain Emile Vervalcke, passed away on September 12, 2007 at the age of 88 years.
In 1993, Mary and her husband, of sixty years, moved to Cochrane after years of farming in Meyronne, SK. Later on, Mary moved into the Big Hill Lodge in Cochrane and enjoyed every moment there. She was a homemaker, enjoyed bowling, and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary was an avid volunteer and very involved in the community. She enjoyed knitting for family and the homeless and made rosaries for the missions. She was a very compassionate, fun-loving, charitable, a gracious hostess and a wonderful dear friend.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Doreen (Clarence), Eileen (Don), Beverley (Al); her son Francis; sister Anna (Robert); brother Michael (Helene); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sister Theresa and two sisters-in-law Irene and Alma.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (10 River Heights Drive, Cochrane) on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (10 River Heights Drive, Cochrane) on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
