Obituary of Frank Bert McWilliams

Frank McWilliams, beloved husband of Charlotte McWilliams of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Frank was born on April 30, 1919 in Washington, PA. He enlisted in the United States Army, Second Armoured Division and during World War II, he served in North Africa, Sicily and Europe. Following the War he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with his degree in Petroleum Engineering and soon after married Charlotte on February 6, 1949 in Washington, PA. Frank began his career in the oil industry in Arkansas, which also took him to Oklahoma and Montana prior to moving to Calgary in 1967. After a successful career, he retired from PanCanadian Petroleum in 1981. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing baseball and golf. He also enjoyed the outdoors; a joy shared by his children as well. He will also be remembered for his modesty and sense of humour. Besides his loving wife, Charlotte, Frank is also survived by his family, Jeanne McWilliams of Davenport, IA, Jim McWilliams and Heather Bradley, Laurie and Jerry Weber, Amy McWilliams, all of Calgary; his nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his cousin Lillian Miller of Washington, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers Walter and Bill; and his two sisters Mary and Elsie. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
