Obituary of Jane H. Thomson

Jane H. Thomson, beloved wife of Ronald (Scotty) Thomson of Calgary, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the age of 75 years. Born in Shanghai, China and raised in Great Britain, Jane immigrated to Canada in 1955, residing most of her adult life in Calgary. In addition to gourmet (French) cooking and gardening, Jane’s lifelong love of opera was enriched by regular attendance at the Calgary Opera. In addition to travel, Jane also derived significant pleasure from cheering for the Calgary Stampeders. After a successful career as an Auditor for the Federal Government, Jane went into business with her husband until they retired together in 1999. Besides her loving husband, Scotty, Jane is survived by her seven children, Bruce, Christopher, Michael, Howard, Linda, Cate, and Glenn, as well as nine grandchildren. Jane was predeceased by her daughter Frances in 1975. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, September 17, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 11:00 A.M.
