Obituary of James S.S. Rayment

Jim Rayment, beloved husband of Kay Rayment of Calgary, passed away with spirit surrounded by family, on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the age of 76 years. Jim faced his two-year battle with cancer with great determination, smiles, humour and dignity. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend of forty-three years Kay (nee Campbell); his children, Carole Groot, Bill Rayment, Joanne (Pete) Bosgra and Ross (Stacey) Rayment. Jim leaves behind a legacy of laughter and celebration for his eight grandchildren, Carly and Nathan Groot, Heather (Andy) Row, Stephanie and Kimberly Bosgra and Alexandra, Thomas and Daniel Rayment. He will also be remembered by his sister Mary (John) Thompson-Bokstein; brother Bob Rayment; sister-in-law Jan Rayment-Bauerfind; and an extended family of many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim touched many lives near and far through business and friendship and will be remembered for his wonderful laugh and love of sharing a good story. Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Home Care team of doctors and nurses as well as the entire staff and volunteers of the Agape Hospice. Jim and his family will forever remember the warm and compassionate care extended by all. The Agape Hospice truly became a home for us among a community of families, residents and staff who shared stories, laughs, tears and late night snacks. To our family and friends, we thank you for all your gestures of support great and small; we felt your presence and thoughts in our hearts this summer.
