Obituary of Bill Balyk
Bill Balyk, beloved husband of fifty-three years, of Bernice of Calgary, passed away on September 9, 2007 at the age of 76 years.
Bill owned and operated Balik Plumbing and Heating. He retired early, due to Multiple Sclerosis. Bill was a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Council #1186, and served as Grand Knight for two terms and also served as District Deputy. Bill enjoyed the outdoors; he found pleasure in camping, fishing and hunting with his family. He also enjoyed bowling and other activities with his M.S. pals.
Besides his loving wife Bernice, Bill is survived by two sons, Terry (Brenda), Trevor (Melanie); three daughters Susan Arnold, Barbara (Tim) Batty, Carmen (Stefan) Queitsch; fourteen grandchildren; Jeff (Mel), Mathew, Amber (Shawn), Lana, Megan, Stephanie, Andrew, Thomas, Matthew, Nick, Joel, Kaitlyn, Kaslo, Kiana; two great-grandchildren Taylor and Brooklyn; sister Stella (Norman) Drews; two daughter-in-laws Donna Balyk and Susan Balyk; also nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his son Patrick, infant son David; sister Mary; and his parents Nicholas and Barbara.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Thursday September 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
