Obituary of Ida Knaus

Ida Knaus found everlasting peace on the evening of Wednesday, September 5, 2007 with many of her family members by her side. Ida Bauer was born in Saskatchewan on February 22, 1917, but lived most of her life in Calgary. Her mother Rosina, died when she was only five years old so Ida lived with her father , Michael, brothers, Gottlieb and John and sisters, Helen, Elsie, Lenore and Alvina, all who have passed on. Ida was loving, gentle feisty person who enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing crib, dice or Rummoli, but most of all she loved and cared for her family as best she could. Besides her daughters and sons-in-law Lorraine and Frank Sisson and Grace and Walter Morgan and step daughter Hilda Daley she will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Alan, Rhonda, Michele, Tammy, Donna and Vance; nine great-grandchildren; and special “grandchildren”, Terry and Dennis Daley. Ida’s half brother, Emil and half sisters Rose, Irene, Edna and Alice also remain to help celebrate her life. Ida was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1961 and by her step mother and her four children. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
