Obituary of Connie Brehmer

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great-grandma on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the age of 89 years. Connie married Bud Brehmer (who predeceased her in 1988) and came to Canada in 1945 as an English War Bride. She had a varied career, including eighteen years with the Calgary Board of Education. She loved playing cards and enjoyed her many trips to Florida, Las Vegas and the lakes. Her life’s greatest moments were anytime she could be surrounded by her family. Connie is survived by her children, Jean and husband Vern Becker of Kimberley, BC, Alan and wife Diane Southworth of Boynton Beach, FL, Judi and husband Tom Davis of Calgary; grandchildren, Jeff, Tim (Susan), Todd (Brenda), Jay (Penny), Craig (Therese), Kari, Lisa (Robert), Michael, and Sean; great-grandchildren, Kelly, Brooke, Alycia, Tanya, Kayla, Michelle, Brad, Josh, Jericho, Clare, Roy, Kate, Meghan, John Michael, Matthew, and Joseph; also special great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alexis and Michael; and great-great-grandson Braxton. The families of Vern, Diane and Tom will miss her as well. Connie is also survived by her special friends, Jean Southworth of England and Doriene Zack of Calgary. Mom has left us with a huge hole in our hearts but also with the legacy of what family love and loyalty is all about – the most important blessing of all.
