Obituary of Douglas Norman Cundy

Douglas Norman Cundy passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Douglas was born and raised in Calgary. He joined the Air Force, as a navigator during WWII, serving overseas. Upon returning home Doug began his first career in the Cattle Ranching Industry as part owner in the Waldron Ranch of the Porcupine Hills district in Southern Alberta. Also at this time, Doug began 4 Square Lumber in Calgary, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. Doug later went on to other ventures, establishing Wax Museums around the world. Doug, then returned to the lumber industry, which lasted for approximately the next twenty years. Doug’s passion was always his horses and thoroughbred racing. He had a great love of family and was very generous and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Doug will mostly be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. Doug is survived by his five sons and two daughters-in-law; Raymond, Rodney, Roger and Yolanda, all of Calgary, Kevin, Timothy and Marcella of Airdrie; Four grandchildren, Jaime, Michael, Tiffany and Carmen; he is also survived by his two brothers, Ronald Cundy and Jack Cundy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug is predeceased by his first wife Edna Peres and his second wife Barbara Love.
