Obituary of Vivian Smithson

Vivian Smithson, beloved wife of the late Irvin of Calgary, passed away Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 72 years. Vivian was born January 21, 1935 the youngest of the farming Ference family from Borden, SK. She was married July 25, 1953 to Irvin Smithson. In 1959, she and her family moved to Calgary and helped to establish and promote the Crossroads Community Association. Vivian is survived and sadly missed by her three children, Tracy Smithson (Marilyn) of Quebec, QC, Debra Burtt (Steven) of Airdrie, AB, and Darcy Smithson of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Sean, Jennifer Smithson all of Quebec, QC, and Joshua Burtt of Airdrie, AB. She is also survived by her sister Adeline Sarich of Saskatoon, SK; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Macks of Calgary, AB, Margaret McDonald of Tsawwassen, B.C., Lorraine Spithakus of Saskatoon, SK., and Marlene Collins of Muskogee, OK; and two brothers-in-law Carl of British Columbia and Bill of Saskatoon, SK. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at Rocky View Garden of Peace (Hwy # 1 East at Garden Road N.E.) on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
