Obituary of Albert Lorne Wilson
Albert Wilson of Calgary passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Alice Margaret Wilson in 2004.
Albert was born in Dundas, ON. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII on a minesweeper in the English Channel. Following the war he moved to Alberta, where he obtained his first class Steam Engineering Degree and was employed with the Provincial Government. Albert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all his family.
Albert will be remembered by his two daughters, Carol (Scott) McKay of Hanna and Lorraine McIntyre of Calgary; his grandchildren, Bryan (Stacy) McKay, Debbie (Justin) McMillin, Ward McKay, Christie McIntyre and Allison McIntyre; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Spencer McMillin. He is also survived by his two sisters, Fran (Alex) Starkes and Maxine Stonehouse; two brothers Bob (Ann) Wilson and Ted (Dianne) Wilson all of Ontario. Albert was predeceased by his brother-in-law Harvey Stonehouse and his sister-in-law Judy Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
