Obituary of Barbara Dyck

It is with much sadness that we announce Barb’s passing on Thursday, August 23, 2007 after a courageous battle with COPD at the age of 63 years. Barb was born and raised in Brandon, MB and moved to Calgary in 1966. She was the current President of Respiratos, Lung Support Group in Calgary. Barb was also a PHQ Bethel #6 Brandon, MB, PBG Bethel #1 Calgary and Past Grand Guardian of Alberta-International Order of Job’s Daughters. Barb is survived by Ken, her loving friend and husband of forty-three years; her children, Reta (John) Norrish, Brenda (Todd) Furgason of Calgary and Kevin (Darla) Dyck of Strathmore; her most precious grandchildren, Nicole and Krista-Lyn Norrish, Richard and Kimberly Furgason and Jordan and Chelsea Dyck. She is also survived by her brother David Scott of Calgary and many relatives and close friends. Barb was predeceased by her parents Allan and Reta Scott. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to COPD Research, c/o Alberta Lung Assoc., Box 4700.
