Obituary of Francisco Garcia

Francisco (Pancho) Garcia, beloved husband of Lilia Garcia of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Francisco Garcia was born on February 13, 1923, in Monterrey, Mexico. He immigrated to Canada in 1971. Francisco traveled around the world as a Professional Wrestler and met Stu Hart then Calgary became his home in 1973, where he brought his wife, and daughters from Lima, Peru. Francisco was a devoted Roman Catholic. Francisco was active in international wrestling and was featured in films under his professional name, “Frank Carnicero Butcher” he also loved scrap booking and writing his autobiography. Francisco cherished his grandchildren and a great love of dogs. Besides his loving wife Lilia, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Lupe Garcia and Marlene and Rick Saunders, all of Calgary; Grandchildren, Ryan Kennedy, Blake and Steven Saunders. He will also be missed by many family and friends from around the world. Francisco was predeceased by his parents Guillermo and Maria Del Refugio Garcia. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church (2519 Edmonton Trail N.E.) on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
