Obituary of Clifford Eugene Compton
Clifford Eugene Compton passed away peacefully at the Intercare Southwood Care Centre on Monday, August 13, 2007 after a lengthy illness at the age of 80.
Cliff was born on July 21, 1927 on the family farm of his parents, Monte and Mildred (Gallinger) Compton at Darmody, SK. He worked hard throughout his working life as a carpet and flooring installer in Lethbridge and Calgary. Cliff suffered silently and in good spirits for many months, notwithstanding the pain of the cancer that ravaged his body.
Cliff is survived by his two daughters Karen Carter of Medicine Hat, AB and Joanne Compton of Lethbridge, AB; his six grandchildren Dustin Compton, Kristen Compton, Jennifer Demarty, Allison Carter, Meredith Carter, Shannon Carton; and his great-granddaughter Nora Demarty. He is also survived by his five brothers, Ellis of Regina, SK, Wayne of Mississauga, ON, Ken of Vancouver, BC, Doug of Calgary, AB, and Dalc; his four sisters, Ruth Ball of Chemaninus, BC, Gayle Allan of Langley, BC, Patricia Carter of Richmond, BC, and Vivian Davison of Kamloops, BC; and many nieces and nephews. Cliff was predeceased by his parents; his son Martin Compton; his brother Lloyd, and his second wife Donna Klaassen.
