Obituary of Norah Thompson
Norah Thompson of Calgary passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the age of 90 years.
Norah was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England and immigrated to Canada in 1967. Norah started her career at the age of fourteen as a tailoress and finished her working career in the Macleod Room Restaurant of Woodward’s on retirement. Norah taught everyone she touched the beauty and joy of living life to the very fullest and living each day given as a gift to enjoy and cherish and share with others which she did beautifully. Mother, Nana, Friend, Norah with the “H” and Thompson with the “P” as she always cutely introduced herself, our little ever-ready bunnie, whose good karma is being felt around the world today, whose ability to maintain amazing energy, enthusiasm, character, and love of people will remain in our hearts forever.
Norah is survived by her son Alan; daughter Beryl; two grandsons, Nigel (Angie) and Steven (Deedra); two great-grandsons, Mark (Elise) and Sean; two great-granddaughters, Christine (Joey) and Shannon (Jake); a great-great-grandson Dominic; and a great-great-granddaughter Hailey; sister Florrie of Leeds, England.; numerous nieces and nephews in Leeds, England; and her treasured friends. Norah was predeceased by her beautiful husband, David in 1998 after sixty-one years of marriage.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
