Obituary of Corinne Elizabeth Packer
Corinne Elizabeth Packer, beloved wife of Gordon of Calgary, passed away on August 7, 2007 at the age of 70 years.
Corinne was born to Ernie and Betty Williams in Winnipeg on April 2, 1937. She grew up in the community of St. Vital and graduated from Senior High School and Business College. She loved spending her childhood summer days at her Uncle Ralph and Auntie Donna’s cottage at Gull Lake, MB. In 1955, Corinne earned the title as “Miss Blue Bomber” and remained a CFL fan for life, enjoying many football games. In 1955, she met Gordon and married him a short time later on June 7, 1957 and they celebrated their Fiftieth anniversary this year. They have been residents of Calgary for over thirty-five years. Corinne loved reading, traveling particularly in France, England and Italy, live theatre, and the musical movies of the forties and fifties particularly anything that starred Gene Kelly.
Corinne is survived by her husband; Gordon; her daughters, Susan Petkau (Bryant) and Terry Schmidt (David); and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Taryn Petkau, Erica, Eden and Evan Schmidt.
A Celebration of Corinne’s Life will take place at Sienna Park Green Village Amenities Centre (4000 Sienna Park Green S.W) on Sunday August 19, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
