Obituary of Juliette Dorothy Jolly Cotton

Juliette Cotton (Julie) known also as “Jolly”, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the age of 99 years. Jolly was born on December 29th, 1907 in Wakaw, SK. Working as a Registered Nurse in Saskatchewan for many years, she traveled throughout Canada and the U.S. before settling in Calgary in 1942. She met Jack Cotton in 1949 and they were married in July of 1950. Jolly was a passionate person who took great pride in all she did and in raising her two daughters, Lorraine and Pat. She was an active member of the Holy Name Catholic Women’s League for over fifty years. Traveling, gardening and quilting were among her many interests, notably completing well over one hundred quilts over the years. Julie’s enthusiasm and zest for life was always shared with those whom she loved most dearly. Jolly believed that “If you have faith in God and help other people, that is what is most important in life”. Jolly is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Gene Regan and their children, Wesley (Bronwen) Regan and Carrie (Matt) Friesen; Lorraine Crawford and her sons, Jason and Cameron; and by her great-grandson Hayden Crawford. She is also survived by her younger sister, Peggy Taylor as well as many nieces and nephews. Jolly was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 2006, her two brothers and her four sisters.
