Obituary of Ruby Kathleen McManus

Ruby Kathleen McManus of Calgary passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the age of 85 years.

Born in Birmingham, England, Ruby’s family moved to Canada when she was six months old. She later met and married John in Manitoba and together they settled in British Columbia and Alberta. Ruby was an avid Bingo player and cat lover – playing cards and socializing with her family and friends at the Gilchrist Manor were among her favourite activities. Ruby was a very thoughtful person who specialized in giving gifts which reflected the individuality of the receiver.

Ruby is survived by eight children and their spouses, Adelene and Ken Mickey of Bowden, AB, Gary McManus of Hanna, AB, Bryan and Carol McManus of Calgary, Ralph McManus of Revelstoke, BC, Lynda and Edward Pierzchalski of DeWinton, AB, Diane and Ken Porter of Calgary, Dan McManus of Edmonton, AB, S.M. and partner D.P. of AB; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by a brother Dennis Mustchin of Surrey, BC. Ruby was predeceased by her husband John Oscar McManus; and sisters, Pat and Iris.
