Obituary of Delila Schmidt

Delila Schmidt passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus while at home with her family on Monday, July 30, 2007. Lila lived 86 years of life to its fullest, enjoying every moment granted to her by her Creator. Our praying Mom, grandma, sister, and aunt will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law Brian and Roxanne Schmidt; her daughter and son-in-law Geri and Glen Gibson; as well as her four grandchildren, Phillip, Jeffery, and Brianne Schmidt and Crystal Gibson. She will also be missed by her brothers, Mel, Bob and Sye Rosin and their families. Lila is now joyfully reunited with her late husband of sixty-one years, Norman Schmidt, who predeceased her by forty-six years. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. We wish to thank Dr. Jane Ballantine for her medical expertise, dedication and compassion in dealing with Lila’s many medical challenges over the past four and a half years. We would also like to thank Lila’s caregivers (angels), Crystal, Priscilla, Kate, Wanda and Marina, for the unfailing and exceptional loving care they provided during this time. We also wish to thank the Homecare staff for their support, training and guidance. Lila would say “thanks a million” to all of you for making it possible for her to be cared for at home. She would also say a million thanks to her son-in-law “Gib” for his commitment and opening his heart and home during this season of her life.
