Obituary of Marguerite Lillian Elliott

Marguerite Lillian Elliott of Calgary, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the age of 87 years. Marguerite was born on February 1, 1920 at Halifax, NS. She married Tom Elliott in 1940 and lived various places across Canada during Tom’s Air Force career. They settled in Calgary and raised their five children. Marguerite was a homemaker and her family was very important to her. She enjoyed entertaining and particularly favoured the holidays when the extended family returned home. Marguerite also loved to travel. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband Thomas Elliott; parents Lillian and Silas Laphen; and two brothers. Marguerite is survived by her children, Robert (Jane) and his children Laura, Michael (Diane), and Robert (Michael); Liz Manley (Steve) and their children, Tara Shomody (Shawn) and Shawn (Shelanda); Thomas (Sandra) and their children Laurie Aitchison (Jeff),and Donna Cairns (Andy); William (Michael); David (Marilyn) and their children, Victoria and Kristopher; as well as ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; her three sisters; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with a private graveside service to follow.
