Obituary of Margaret Helen Kellar

Margaret Helen Kellar, of Calgary, passed away on July 27, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Margaret was born on May 4, 1924 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. In her early years she lived in many communities in Alberta but lived most of her adult life in Calgary. She was a graduate of the Calgary General Hospital’s nursing class of 1947. In July 1952 she married Bill Kellar and soon began to raise her beloved family, all the while continuing her nursing profession. Margaret was an avid bridge player, reader and truly enjoyed knitting. A testament to her caring and giving nature, she actively supported many groups and charities. Margaret is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law Wes Kellar and Gracia Ahumada, Dane and Lynne Kellar; daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Roy Alexander all of Calgary; five grandchildren Jeff, Mark, Jocelyn, Kristyn and Sarah; sister and brother-in-law Eileen and Don Hunter of Abbotsford and their children Dan, Janet and Gail as well as other extended family and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1983.
