Obituary of Rolf Erdmann Pallat

Rolf Pallat passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. He was predeceased by Agathe Pallat in 1987. Rolf is survived by his children Ludwig (Susanne), Monika, and Regine Moorcroft (Don); grandchildren, Marc, Annemarie and Cecilia Moorcroft; as well as several nieces and nephews in Germany. Rolf was born in Berlin, Germany and immigrated with his family to Canada in 1953. He worked as a geologist and information processor in the energy industry until his retirement in 1975. Together with his sister he enjoyed the next twenty-five years working on his acreage in the Eastern Townships of Québec. He returned to Calgary in 1999, in order to be closer to his beloved mountains. Rolf loved hiking and skiing in the mountains and listening to music. In his youth he played in a jazz band together with life long friends. He never missed a Louis Armstrong or Duke Ellington concert. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church (4211 Richmond Road S.W.) on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
