Obituary of Gordon Lloyd Wilson

Gordon Lloyd Wilson was ushered peacefully by angels into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, July 22nd, 2007 at the age of 59. Born on August 4th, 1947 to Thomas and Irene Wilson, Gord lived a full life with many fulfilled passions and interests, first in Saskatoon, then the Yukon, Edmonton, Smoky Lake, Calgary, and Mexico. Gord loved and cherished his family, ensuring that they were the driving force behind everything he did. Most of all, he loved Jesus, and through his personal relationship with Him, he ensured that his final home was heaven. In addition to his lengthy teaching career, Gord had a passion for helping others and was the founder of the Calgary Prison Ministry. At the time of his illness, Gord attended Church In The Hills, where both he and Lynda received much prayer and support. Gord will be lovingly remembered for his humour, compassion and generosity as well as for being a visionary. He believed that nothing was impossible and lived life to the max. His motto was “Take it to the top.” Gord is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of nineteen years, Lynda; his daughter Ronna; his three sons and two daughters-in-law Ryan, Jonathan and Charlotte, Darius and Jackie; and six beautiful grandchildren, Abbey, Vanessa, Bailee, Jocelyn, Ella and Cole. He is also survived by his mother Irene; his five sisters, Elaine, Roberta, Jeannie, Millie and Debbie; and numerous family members.
