KNEESHAW – Clifford Stanley January 15, 1923 – July 17, 2007 It is with great love and deep sorrow that the family of Clifford “Stanley” announces his passing in Calgary on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Stanley’s memory will be cherished by his wife Mary (nee Beddoes); sons Ralph (Gail), Blair (Shelia), Norm (Judy); grandchildren Deanna, Vanessa, Jordon, Jenna, Braydon and Melissa and brother Vern (Fran). He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Don (Irene) Beddoes and Jack (Darlene) Beddoes. Stan was a proud native Calgarian, born at the General Hospital and later joining the CPR in 1941. He joined the Airforce on February 25, 1943 and served overseas with Canadian Forces. Stan played hockey for Arena Dukes from 1946 to 1949 and went to Scotland and coached the Ayr Raiders from 1949 to 1950. He joined Air Canada in May, 1951 and retired in January, 1981. Stan and Mary were married on August 21, 1954. A Celebration of Stanley’s Life will be held at the Radisson Hotel (2120 – 16th Ave N.E.), Calgary, AB on Saturday, July 21, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The eulogy will be read at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca or to a charity of the donor’s choice. .Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
