Obituary of Lillian Whalen
Lil passed away peacefully at the Carewest George Boyack Care Centre on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the age of 83 years.
Lil was born in Blairmore, AB and came to live in Calgary with her parents and older brother at a young age. She worked in retail stores throughout Calgary, spending fifteen years at the Bay in sales and personnel training. Lil was an active parishioner and choir member at St. Michael’s All Angels and St. Peter’s Anglican Churches. She was very creative and played the organ, piano, enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and all crafts. Lil was also a great cook.
Lil is survived by daughters Marilyn (Richard), Annette (Art) all of Calgary and Deborah of Red Deer; grandsons, Ricky, Terry and Steven; two great-granddaughters, Erica and Tara; one great-great-grandson, Cole and special niece Gail. Lil was predeceased by her husband Albert in October, 2001 and brother Stanley Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. The family wishes to extend deepest gratitude to the staff at the George Boyack Care Centre for the kind, loving and compassionate care given to Lil over the past several months.
