Obituary of Charles Allen Stirling

Charles Allen (Al) Stirling, much loved partner of Carol Lyster, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the age of 53 years. Al was born on October 19, 1953 in Calgary, AB. He was a true Calgarian who grew up in the Hillhurst Sunnyside community where the family had a home for over sixty years. After entering the professional work force in 1973, Al started as a young go-getter in the structural department of Abugov Sunderland. In 1989 Al became one of the original members of Abugov Kaspar Architecture Engineering, Interior Design and quickly established himself as the key contract administrator. Al enjoyed his interaction with all contractors and sub trades most of whom became his friends. Al had tremendous organizational skills and was appreciated for it by all involved. He loved his sports and this enthusiasm for sports led him to organize interoffice baseball games, curling tournaments and hockey games. Al enjoyed his 70’s and 80’s music, his favorite being Stairway to Heaven which he could listen to over and over. He was known and loved as an understanding, protective care giver who never asked for anything in return. Al is survived by his chosen life partner, Carol Lyster, as well as a son, a brother and by his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Doris, brother Don and by his sister June whom he cared for during the remaining years of her life. Al will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
