Obituary of Hazel Meryl Bennion
Hazel Bennion of Calgary passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the age of 91 years.
A native Calgarian Hazel lived her whole life in Calgary. She loved sewing knitting and needlework. Her greatest passion was her roses. Hazel was Rose Queen in Calgary in the 1970’s. She worked at the Bay until retirement.’
Hazel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joy and Alan Grant; grandchildren, Kimberlee Hickson (David) of Calgary, Steven Bennion (Julie), of North Dakota; daughter-in-law Brenda Bennion of High River; great-grandchildren, David and Zack Pomeroy of Edmonton, Chad, Chris, Colin Popp, and Hannah Hickson of Calgary; Cole and Sierra Bennion of North Dakota; sister Beryl Bruerton; two nieces, Sherile Riley and Betty St. Louis; as well as one great-niece Laura Bennion Auld. She was predeceased by her parents Ernie and Sarah Osborne, her husband Jack in 1975, son Larry in 2005, and her granddaughter Susan Grant Pomeroy in December 2006.
