Obituary of Jeanine Candace Cecil

Jeanine Candace R. Cecil of Morley, AB has been called home by our Creator on Monday, July 9, 2007 at the age of 23 years. Jeanine was born on April 11, 1984 in Calgary, AB and raised on the Stoney Indian Reservation, Morley, AB. She received her education at the Morley Community School from Kindergarten to Grade 9. Jeanine then went to Milford School in Cochrane to get her grade 10 and 11. She liked to live the traditional Stoney life. Jeanine loved the outdoor life and was into recreational activities such as softball and other sports. Jeanine leaves behind to mourn her daughter Taya Lucey Labelle; mother Alnora Cecil; sister Garradine; four brothers, Garrett Jr., Tarrence, Irwin and Courtland (Pokeman) ; father Garrett Shortneck; her companion Clifton LaBelle; her in laws Cliff and Bernadette Poucette; adopted grandparents Gerald and Velma Powderface; adopted mother Denise Kaquitts and her children; aunties Bernadine and Charles Mark, Diandra and Jessie; uncles Keith and Jubileen, Dalroy Cecil, Randall and Cynthia Poucette; cousins Wesley and Delan, Wayne, Blaine, Roman, Cissy Jr., Panda, Vannina, Lane, Charla, Brodene, and Gaffney, Duane Jr.; the Shortneck family; her special friends Candace Hunter, Leah Beaver, Watson K. Jr. and many others who knew her. She also leaves behind numerous grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. We are sorry if we have missed any of the other relatives from Hobbema, Eden Valley and Big Horn. Jeanine was predeceased by her son Andrew on December 16, 2001, grandparents David and Joan Cecil, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Shortneck, her brother Garrett Keith, uncles Duane, Reginald, Laurie, auntie Jacqueline Cecil, cousin Fergis. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Alnora Cecil (Morley, AB) on Thursday and Friday, July 12 and 13, 2007. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Big Stoney Cemetery (Morley, AB).
