Obituary of T. Clyde Archer
Clyde Archer of Calgary passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2007, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 93 years.
Clyde was born on August 12, 1913 in Tollerton, Yorkshire, England, immigrating to Canada in 1925. She grew up in Sarnia, ON. Clyde met her husband Doug in Sarnia and together they moved to Talara, Peru in 1942 and then to Barrancabermeja, Colombia in 1952. In 1965 they retired to Calgary and shortly after, they moved to Blind Bay, BC. Clyde later returned to Calgary to be closer to her family. Clyde loved to play Bridge, earning master points. Many thanks to all her Bridge friends, especially Mike and Gloria Guy.
Clyde is survived by her children and their spouses, Jack and Isabel Archer, Jim Archer, Fred and Margaret Archer, and Linda and Pepe Vargas; eleven grandchildren, Tony, Ray (Samantha), Sandy (Kevin), Steven, Anne (Terry), Doug, Tom, Joanne (Scott), Jackie (Eric), Dean (Jackie), and Ila (Cody); eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brooks, Zac, Molly, Isa, Phisa, Tighe, and Kieran; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Phoebe Pippard; and numerous extended family worldwide. She was predeceased by her husband Doug; and grandson Harold.
A Celebration of Clyde’s Life will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church (7 Sunmills Green S.E.) on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
