Obituary of Woon Ho Chung

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Woon Ho Chung (nee Yung) in the company of her family on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the age 79 years old. She was predeceased by her husband of thirty-eight years, Sai Ying in 1983. In 1970, she immigrated to Canada with her family and adapted to the Calgary lifestyle of wrestling, stampede, and hockey. Woon Ho worked long hours to ensure the best education for her children and never complained of the hardship. Although she had never received a formal education, she ensured that the important lessons and values she had experienced throughout her life were passed on to future generations. Woon Ho’s greatest pride in life was her family. Her guidance and wisdom will be greatly missed by her children: Connie (Allan) Yu, Linda (Alex – deceased) Wu, Hosten (Connie) Chung, Margaret (Kevin) MacLeod, Jeffary (Jacky) Chung, and Willie (Kimmy) Chung. Woon Ho loved hearing her grandchildren come through the door screaming “Poa Poa” from Kelly (fiancé – Prem Leung), Lenny, and Jessie Yu, Christina, Andrew, and Patrick Wu, and Christopher, Allison, and Lindsay MacLeod while Leslie, Terrence, Avery, Cooper, Curtis, and Clayton Chung scream out “Mah Mah” all fighting for her attention. Family gatherings were frequent and always centered around the matriarch of the family. The family would like to extend the deepest gratitude to Dr. Farshad Sepandj, Dr. Mark Grainger, and the staff at the South Calgary Dialysis unit for their excellent care to our (grand) mother.
