Obituary of Hilda Marie Rose
Hilda Rose passed away peacefully at Father Lacombe Care Centre on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the age of 87 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty-five years, Richard Earl Rose; her daughters, Valerie (Robert Cochrane) of Calgary and Marnie (Phil Burns) of Florida; her son Randy of Montreal; grandchildren, Brad, Kimberley, Ryan, Sean, Tyrel, and Jason; and her brothers-in-law, Steve Washook and Ken Low. She was predeceased by her sister Louie Low; brother Eric Crease; and sisters-in-law, Myrtle Washook and Aileen Crease.
Hilda’s life was devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing cards, especially bridge. In her youth, Hilda was an accomplished speed skater of Granada Speed Skating Club in North Winnipeg. She worked as a dressmaker in the bridal shop of Hudson Bay Company. She used her special talents all her life and ultimately sewed the wedding gowns for several family members. Hilda enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and a competitive game of horseshoes or croquet. She enjoyed many travel opportunities and particularly appreciated Europe and Hawaii. Hilda spent many happy retirement years wintering in Florida.
A Celebration of Hilda’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
