Obituary of Ronald Verne-Adair Kelly

Ronald Kelly beloved husband of Pat Kelly of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at the age of 70 years. Ron was born on April 17, 1937 in Vancouver, BC, and moved to Calgary as a child. He graduated from “Old” Central and joined the RCAF because he wanted to fly jet planes. After ten years as a CF100 fighter pilot Ron retired from the Air Force and attended Sir George Williams University in Montreal where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce. Ron then flew with Air Canada for only two years because he decided he wanted to spend more time with his young family. Ron enrolled at the University of Calgary and obtained a Diploma in Education and began his 26 year teaching career with the Calgary Board of Education. Ron retired from teaching while he was at Central Memorial teaching Business Education. Besides his loving wife Pat of forty-seven years, Ron is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Bobbie Kelly, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Michael Sheppard and youngest daughter Angela Kelly. Ron was very proud of his four grandchildren, Nathaniel and Veronica Sheppard and Benjamin and Larrisa Kelly. Ron will be remembered by his only cousin Robert Farrow of Burnaby, BC. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Ron’s memory to the Military Museum in Garrison Woods at 4520 Crowchild Trail South West, T2T 5J4.
